Canadian Union Flag Hat

Archival Replica of the Canadian Union Flag Cap.

Made in Vietnam.

Replica of the Canadian Union flag hat. The new flag and symbols of the Canadian Union represent the long culmination of Canadian national feeling. Reluctant to formalize the supranational status of the Special Council of the Canadas, the Federal Sovereignty of Canada resisted the plurality assertion of the Assembly of Canadian Union despite popular demand following the Northern Conflict. Chafing against the limits of the democratic—but constrained—International Assembly of the Canadas, the 2052 Member Nation elections saw an influx of reform-minded members sweep into power. The hard core of this group was represented by France, Japan, India, England, China, Ukraine, Georgia, Greece, Bulgaria and Finland who, in 2053 during the first Assembly session of the term, presented the Executive with the ‘Ottawa Act.’ Sensitive to accusations of yankee-style Neoimperialism and perennially unwilling to extend Canadian influence further, the Federal Sovereignty of Canada was forced to accept this new demand for greater integration. The Canadian integrationist radicals of the supranational Assembly led the subsequent working groups that crafted the emerging Canadian Union. While many nations have adopted their own ‘Ottawa’, the pioneering vision of renaming capital cities was originally undertaken by the 10 vanguard members of the union. LMX Unlimited has reproduced the embroidered cap worn by the Assembly Speaker from England in 2057 as she cast the final vote for international integration.
