Tim Hortons Peace Harvest T-Shirt
Archival Replica of Tim Horton’s Peace Harvest Northern Conflict Veterans T-Shirt.
100% Cotton. Made in the USA.
Replica of promotional Tim Hortons T-Shirt celebrating the first ‘Peace Harvest’ in Canada proper. This 2040 shirt advertises a new menu celebrating the return of southern republican produce after a near decade of embargo. Postwar rationing meant that the new avocado-maple menu launched first in British Columbia in recognition of the austerity suffered in the province over the previous years. Tim Hortons, a brand synonymous with Canadian identity, reaffirmed a long tradition of support for veterans, crafting a distinctly Canadian visual iconography after its global reconsolidation earlier that year. Splintered and patchworked, the Northern Conflict would centralize the worldwide operations of Tim Hortons in Canada as a Crown Corporation while simultaneously adopting various foreign branch-plant influences, namely the global introduction of Timmy the Beaver, originally the mascot of Tim Hortons China (Tian Hao Coffee, 天好咖啡). An early indication that Canadian identity would shape the internationalism of the following decade, this T-Shirt is also the first non-governmental display of the new flags of the Commonwealth European Union and the People’s Liberation Army.
